Singlemode: Refers to the type of fiber optic strand. Singlemode fibers are designed to carry a single ray of light (or mode) and are commonly used for long-distance applications due to their lower attenuation and ability to operate at higher speeds.

Plenum: Rated for installation in air-handling spaces (plenums). Plenum-rated cables are made of flame-retardant materials that produce less smoke and fewer toxic fumes when burned.
