Type CM Multi-conductor Shielded Communication Cable is a cable used for communication purposes on record labels, in sound booths, on sound stages, for broadcasting, and in associated computer systems and industrial equipment. Cable's voltage rating is 300 volts. The cable is color-coded in gray.

Fully annealed, stranded tinned copper per ASTM B-33
Insulation:
Premium-grade, color-coded polyethylene.
Jacket:

An aluminum/polyester shield with a 25% foil overlap and a stranded tinned copper drain wire.
