Clamp the VTST-1 in the jaw and pull your rope in. (Hint: have the large flare of the VTST-1 facing the cable reels.)\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e• String and sag the conductor directly on the insulator. Dead ends can be made up and the circuit can be energized (remember: you are in an insulator)\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e• Loosen the bolt and slide the VTST-1 away from the insulator, either by hand or with a hot stick, until the two halves of the tool separate.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e• Clamp the conductor in the Vise Top jaw by tightening the torque bolts, bottom bolt first—always, until the rings break away.
