Alpha Wire 150_600V PVC Insulation Hook up wire ribbon cable

The Alpha Wire 150-600V PVC cable has a generally flat but tough construction. It is meant for light weight to heavy duty applications with its voltage rating ranging from 150 to 600 volts. When it comes to lengthwise, the minimum length of the cable is at 100 ft. It can also operate in a wide range of temperatures whereby the Mil option is reliable in temperatures of -200C and 1050C in both wet and dry environments respectively. The AWM option of the cable can support temperatures of -200C and 800C in both wet and dry environments respectively which makes it slightly lower than the MIL option.

Conductors:

It has conductors which are at the core of the cable and are made of stranded tinned coppers. Copper is the best choice due to its exceptional electrical properties. Copper also has other numerous advantages including durability, adaptability, reliability, affordability and it can be easily recyclable once worn out. The stranding ensures maximum flexibility and the capacity of the cable to carry more current.

Insulation:

Covering the conductors is PVC insulation. It is bonded in to a flat configuration. The insulation prevents direct contact with the live wire and also protects the conductors as well. It’s relatively tough and offers amazing resistance to sunlight, moisture, abrasion, impact and corrosion. The insulation is color coded for easy identification of the cable.
