567-18-3508 14 AWG 8P Tin Coated Copper Shield Silicone Al Mylar Armor C-L-X Okotherm CIC SP-OS Marine Cable
Allowable AmpacityĀ for 567-18-3508 14 AWG 8P Tin Coated Copper Shield Silicone Al Mylar Armor C-L-X Okotherm CIC SP-OS Marine Cable:100 Amps
About:
The Tin Coated Copper Shield Silicone Al Mylar Armor C-L-X Okotherm CIC SP-OS Marine Cable is designed for use in challenging marine and offshore environments. This cable offers excellent protection against corrosion, mechanical damage, and electromagnetic interference (EMI), ensuring reliable performance in critical control and instrumentation applications.
Also Known As:
ā¢Ā Okotherm Marine Cable
ā¢Ā Tin Coated Copper Shield Marine Cable
ā¢Ā CIC (Control and Instrumentation Cable) Marine Cable
ā¢Ā C-L-X (Continuous Interlocking Armor) Marine Cable
ā¢Ā SP-OS (Silicone Protected Overall Shield) Marine Cable
Application:
ā¢Ā Okotherm CIC 600 volt instrumentation cables are used in systems where, in the event of aĀ fire, circuit integrity is required in order to maintain a process orĀ to safely shut down the process. Fire resistance is determined by compliance to the IEC 60331 circuit integrity fireĀ test. Okotherm CIC cables maintain circuit integrity based on qualification to IEC standardĀ 60331, for all temperatures and times up to andĀ including 2000°F for three hours. When exposed to a fire, the Okotherm CIC insulationĀ becomes an electrically insulating ceramic-likeĀ ash that is capable of maintaining the operatingĀ voltage.
ā¢Ā Okotherm CIC C-L-X Type MC-HL cablesĀ with the impervious, continuous aluminumĀ corrugated sheath are recommended as an alternative to a wire conduit system. TheseĀ cables may be installed indoors or outdoors, inĀ wet or dry locations, as open runs of cable secured to supports not more than six feet apart,Ā in cable tray, as an aerial cable on a messenger, in any approved raceway, directĀ burial, or encased in concrete. They are alsoĀ approved for use in Class I & II, Division 1Ā and 2, Class III, Division 1 and 2 and Zones 1 & 2 hazardous locations per NEC Articles
501, 502, 503, and 505.
ā¢Ā The isolated individual shields over each pair or triad, when properly grounded, prevent crosstalk or capacitive coupling between adjacent pairs or triads which occurs with acĀ signals, particularly the pulse type.Ā The overall shield eliminates most of theĀ static interference from the electric fieldĀ radiated by power cables and other electricalĀ equipment.
ā¢Ā Okotherm CIC 600 volt instrumentation cables should be considered on circuitsĀ designed for fire detection and suppression,Ā alarms, communication, circuits requiringĀ redundancy and personnel egress.
