Specification
350 MCM MV105 EPR Insulation PVC Jacket Shielded 100% Or 133% Insulation Copper Power Cable 5KV / 8KV
Applications:
The mv105 copper cable is an electrical wire used for power circuits up to 5,000 Volts when fixed in open air, conduit, or duct; in applications such as chemical plants, refineries, steel mills, industrial plants, commercial buildings, utility substations, and generating stations. The National Electric Code accepts this electrical cable for uses within 90°C for continuous operation, 130°C for emergency overload conditions, and 250°C for short circuit conditions.
Also Known As:
350 mcm medium voltage power cables, 350 mcm mv power cable, 350 mcm mv105 cable, 350 mcm mv105, 350 mv power cable, 350 mv105 cable, 350 mv105, Part No: 17001.136205, Part No: 3DA-3501.
Standards:
- ICEA S-93-639
- NEMA WC74
- AEIC CS8
- Federal Specification J-C-30B
Construction
Conductors:
The MV power cable conductor is made of soft bare copper per ASTM B-3, Class B stranding per ASTM B-8 (compressed), or ASTM B-496 (compact), with a semi-conducting conductor shield.
Insulation:
Thermoset semi-conducting polymeric layer free stripping from insulation
The MV power cable has cross-linked polyethylene (XLP) insulation. The conductors are normally cabled together with XLP insulated aluminum ground or bare copper ground and covered with reinforced binder tape. XLP insulation is tough and resistant to impact, abrasion, chemicals, acids, oils, industrial solvents, and changes in weather.
Shield:
Shielding wires meet ICEA standards. Extruded thermoset semi-conducting stress-
control layer over conductor
Jacket:
Reinforced insulation is provided by a PVC jacket, which is sunlight-resistant, per ICEA S-97-682 and UL Standard 1072.
