Construction

Conductors:

Belden wire may have different numbers of conductors that are drawn and annealed by the company and made of either solid or stranded copper.

Insulation:

Insulation is very important in any electrical cable since it prevents the electrocution of cable handlers. Belden cable’s insulation is made by the company, therefore offering a wide range of options, including Polyethylene, Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), and Polypropylene insulation.  Datalene and Teflon® Insulated Plenum insulation are also available.

Jacket:

The range of Belden wire jackets is quite wide and includes the following materials: Polyvinyl Chloride, Polyethylene, Polyurethane, Teflon®, Tefzel®, Neoprene, EPDM, Silicone rubber, and Natural rubber.

Shield:

Belden wire shields utilize techniques and innovations developed by the company and include the following variety: Foil shields (Beldfoil®, Duofoil®), Braid shields, Spiral/Serve shields, and Combination shields.

Armor:

Belden wire armor protects the cable and is made of aluminum or interlocking steel.
